Nepal: Patan, Lalitpur, Sightseeing This morning, you will be taken for a visit to Patan. Separated from Kathmandu by Bagmati River, Patan is the second largest town of Nepal. It is also known as Lalitpur. Lalitpur is fragmented from other cities due to its architectural ancient masterpieces. Patan's central Durbar Square is absolutely packed with temples: It’s an architectural center point with a far greater concentration of temples per square meter than in Kathmandu or Bhaktapur. The Tibetan Refugee Center also lies in the city, which is home to most of the valley's Tibetan population. These Tibetans operate carpet industry and hence, are some of the wealthiest people in the valley. Here, you can shop fine Tibetan carpets. Then, we will proceed to Swayambhunath - the golden spire of the 5th century. It is a stupa, which is adorned with colourful prayer flags. It overlooks the Kathmandu Valley and you can get a fantastic view of Kathmandu city. Swayambhunath is one of the most prominent symbols in Nepal. Later after checking out from the hotel, drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is 210 KM and 7 hours’ drive from Kathmandu. Then in the afternoon, you will visit Bindebasini Temple. It is one of the oldest temples of Pokhara. This temple was a part of Kaski Kingdom and the main deity- Goddess Durga, was brought from India. The temple is located in the area of old bazaar. Then, we move on to see Devi's fall. It is also known as Patale Chango and is located 2km southwest of Pokhara. During the summer and rainy seasons, this waterfall takes its real form, with gushing water splashing and making its way through the rocks. On the opposite side of the fall, is Gupteshwor cave.
