Welcome to Nepal
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Kathmandu, the political and cultural heart of the kingdom is also the capital of Nepal. The modern part of Kathmandu is made up of two cities- Patan and Kathmandu. After short relaxation, you will be taken for a visit of the Hindu religious site in Nepal, Pashupatinath. The holy sadhus pray here and cremations are carried out on the Bagmati River. We then move on to Boudhanath- the holiest shrine of the Buddhist culture in Nepal. It is a large stupa and many devout Buddhists come here on pilgrimage. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Nepal: Patan, Lalitpur, Sightseeing
This morning, you will be taken for a visit to Patan. Separated from Kathmandu by Bagmati River, Patan is the second largest town of Nepal. It is also known as Lalitpur. Lalitpur is fragmented from other cities due to its architectural ancient masterpieces. Patan's central Durbar Square is absolutely packed with temples: It’s an architectural center point with a far greater concentration of temples per square meter than in Kathmandu or Bhaktapur. The Tibetan Refugee Center also lies in the city, which is home to most of the valley's Tibetan population. These Tibetans operate carpet industry and hence, are some of the wealthiest people in the valley. Here, you can shop fine Tibetan carpets. Then, we will proceed to Swayambhunath - the golden spire of the 5th century. It is a stupa, which is adorned with colourful prayer flags. It overlooks the Kathmandu Valley and you can get a fantastic view of Kathmandu city. Swayambhunath is one of the most prominent symbols in Nepal. Later after checking out from the hotel, drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is 210 KM and 7 hours’ drive from Kathmandu. En-route, you have the option to enjoy cable car riding at Manokamna Temple on your own cost. On arrival at Pokhara, check-in to the hotel.
Sarangkot Village tour
On day 3 of your Nepal holiday, you will go for an excursion to Sarangkot. The village of Sarangkot is 1590 m high and is located to the north of Phewa Lake on the top of a hillock. You will get to see spectacular sunrise and sunset from here and also a view of panoramic ranges of Annapurna, Dhauagiri, Machhapuchhre and Ganesh Himal. Then in the afternoon, you will visit Bindebasini Temple. It is one of the oldest temples of Pokhara. This temple was a part of Kaski Kingdom and the main deity- Goddess Durga, was brought from India. The temple is located in the area of old bazaar. Then, we move on to see Devi's fall. It is also known as Patale Chango and is located 2km southwest of Pokhara. During the summer and rainy seasons, this waterfall takes its real form, with gushing water splashing and making its way through the rocks. On the opposite side of the fall, is Gupteshwor cave. Different natural forms are made in the cave from limestone deposits. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the cave. Overnight stay at the hotel.
This morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Chitwan (140 KM and approx. 4 hours’ drive). Chitwan is one of Asia's premier wildlife reserves. A variety of mammals and birds, including endangered species, dwell here in 360 square miles of tall grasslands and forests. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. Later, book jungle activities for the next day. (We can also book the package if desired by travellers).
On day 5 of your Nepal tour, enjoy jungle activities in Chitwan National Park as per the package booked by travellers themselves. The main attraction is Elephant Safari/Jeep Safari, bird watching, nature walk, canoeing, dugout etc. Overnight stay at Chitwan.
Post breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu and check-in to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. You can indulge in personal activities or shopping. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
